Velvet Hippo is a 501(c)(3) that funds vetted, foster-based dog rescues across the country. We don't house dogs. We pay the people who do.

What we actually do
Members fund Block Grants. We send those grants to partner rescues we've vetted in person. Every grant is posted on the ledger. Every sponsorship splits 75/25, always shown.
What we don't do
We don't run a shelter. We don't post sad photos. We don't email you four times a week. We don't say "most people."
